Understanding Outpatient Options for Mental Health

When starting the process of getting into treatment, looking at your options can be overwhelming. While it is possible to need inpatient care, there are many different forms of outpatient options to consider when looking at treatment. Understanding your outpatient options for treatment will put the control back into your hands. West Coast Recovery Centers is committed to offering different forms of mental health treatment that assist our clients in getting into healthy states of mind. Many different disorders can be treated with outpatient treatment.

Treatment can include medication management and different forms of therapeutic intervention. Intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization are different forms of acute outpatient care that allow our clients to work with therapists weekly while still working in their lives at home. This treatment can be effective for people who struggle with different forms of mental health disorders. Outpatient treatment is effective in teaching you the skills that you need to manage your mental health.

Mental Health Disorders and Treatment

People who struggle with their mental health often time require therapeutic intervention to stay healthy. Understanding that treatment is available is important to getting yourself into the right mindset for recovery. If you are struggling, knowing what options you have will help make the transition into treatment less scary. There are many different ways to receive outpatient treatment for mental health. Intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization can be effective ways of helping people with the following mental health disorders:

  • Anxiety disorder
  • Mood disorders
  • Phobias
  • Panic disorders
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Dual diagnosis

Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Options

Getting treatment to improve your mental health is essential for long-term recovery. Within treatment for mental health, there are inpatient and outpatient options. While inpatient treatment allows for more acute intensive care, there are also effective options within outpatient treatment. Understanding what outpatient options are available will allow you to choose to receive the best care for you and your situation. The options we offer at West Coast Recovery Centers include partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. While these programs are both intensive levels of care, they differ in how we can provide them.

Partial hospitalization allows our care team to provide a more direct way to interact with patients while allowing them to integrate into daily life. Within partial hospitalization, our clients will come to treatment from the morning until the afternoon. While they are here with us, they will receive different therapeutic interventions as well as group therapy. Case management and medication management are offered as needed. These programs allow us to help clients while they can go home and use the skills they learn after treatment. This program is all week long and allows our clients to adjust to treatment while living at home or with loved ones.

Similarly, intensive outpatient allows our client to engage in therapy while going home. Intensive outpatient runs daily throughout the week for the morning hours. Engaging in group therapy allows our clients to work through things safely while learning coping skills that will be important to long-term recovery. Intensive outpatient is a good option for our clients as they transition to less care and eventually to maintenance therapy later on. We are effective in the forms.

Holistic and Traditional Outpatient Options

West Coast Recovery Centers offers a different clinical approach than other treatment centers. Within our group therapy programs and individual therapeutic interventions, we engage in multiple styles of treatment. When people think of treatment for mental health, they often think about talk therapy like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). We offer CBT to our clients, but we can also cater their treatment to their interests and the way that is best for them to heal. Offering different forms of holistic treatment allows us to set ourselves apart from other treatment centers.

Within our treatment, we offer ways to engage the mind, body, and spirit. Some examples of things that we offer our clients include group therapies where they can connect with others, as well as activities that help to connect other parts of healing. If our client has a proclivity to physical movement or yoga, we can offer a yoga group for them to engage in. Holistic treatment options give our clients the ability to work on mindfulness and other skills, which can be applied in traditional treatment once they leave us.

Offering both holistic and traditional treatments gives our clients the best chance for success. The different forms of treatment offered allow us to work with clients of all different needs to get them healthy. Traditional and holistic treatment, mixed with our different outpatient options, will enable us to create a treatment plan that is the most effective for our clients.

Treatment for mental health disorders doesn't need to be complicated. If you have decided that outpatient care would be the best for you, we offer different options that can help you achieve your goals of recovery. Traditional and holistic treatment options allow clients to receive treatment in the ways that make the most sense to them. Traditional treatment, like talk therapy, works to help our clients open up, while holistic treatment, such as yoga and meditation, helps to connect our clients to their feelings. All of our outpatient treatments help our clients succeed. If you are interested in learning more about our outpatient treatment options, West Coast Recovery Centers can help.
